Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said he was “absolutely devastated” by the attack in Hainault and thanked the emergency services for their response to the incident. A 14-year-old boy died following multiple stabbings in east London on Tuesday 30 April, where a sword-wielding suspect remains in custody after being tasered by police. Four other people - two members of the public and two police officers - suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. “This attack is devastating and appalling,” Mr Khan said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with this young child and his family.”
