Study shows that some antibiotics recommended by the WHO for children had less than 50% effectiveness in treating infections such as sepsis, pneumonia and meningitis due to growing resistance also in less-developed countries

The study's lead author says many children and babies in Asia-Pacific treated for common infections with antibiotics also used in Australia were dying because those drugs were "no longer working".
