The mother of murdered James Bulger has given her first TV interview since her son’s killer Jon Venables’ parole bid was rejected. Denise Bulger spoke candidly about the parole board’s decision when she appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday (14 December). Her interview comes 30 years on from the death of her son James. Describing how she felt “numb” and “unable to sleep”, she said she welcomed the decision and “finally felt listened to”. She added: “If he [Venables] was released we would end up with another case like James.”
